The Annual Earth Day Parade and Festival seeks to bring both students and adults together in a community for a parade, celebration, and day of learning. The event is planned as a celebratory gathering with guest speakers, workshops, games, entertainment and musical performances. This event is open to the public, but targeted at students. Each year, the celebration seeks to build on the tremendous success of previous years' events, which have brought out close to 2,000 people.
Our hope is to emphasize our desire for urgent action on a variety of issues, and to act as a catalyst for change towards a greener more sustainable future. We will also continue to focus on local issues such as tar sands tankers, pipelines and fracking along with efforts to raise awareness about the impacts and solutions related to climate change.
